On April 1, 2004 Harengus S.A. inaugurated the Puerto San Julián fish processing plant in the Santa Cruz province, with a covered surface of 1,000 m2. This plant is supplied with raw material from continental and interior waters of the province, as well as from sea fishing. Harengus S.A. buys the fished trout and processes it in the modern premises of the Puerto San Julián Plant in order to reach with the final product the shelves of the most demanding markets. The treatment of the trout from the interior lagoons of the Santa Cruz province represents the final stage of a process that starts years before in the fish farming facilities of Isla Pavón.
